Use of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPRs) in the mitigation of water deficiency of tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) can improve the growth, productivity and tolerance of plants under stress conditions. The aim this study was to investigate effect PGPRs on physiological traits related photosynthesis, canopy temperature (CT) yield tomato hybrids water scarcity in open field Seedlings H-1015 UG 812J F1 were treated by B1, B2, B3 bacteria strains before planting, then they grown regularly irrigated (RI=ET100%), deficit (DI=ET50%) non-irrigated (I0) conditions experiments. During flowering period, a higher chlorophyll fluorescence (Fv/Fm), lower content (SPAD) measured for B2 treatments than untreated plants. From ripening fruit, influenced negatively Fv/Fm, positively SPAD value temperature, which resulted 47.8 75.4% increase green healthy fruit compared control. Under severe dry, conditions, treatment increased fruits 28.9%, Brix 16% vitamin C 13.6% comparison with moderate deficiency using irrigation produced same marketable 33% diseased 9.5% 12.7% content.
